Supporting Your Child: A Parent’s Guide to Examination Access Arrangements
Examinations can be stressful for any young person, but for children with additional needs such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, or anxiety, they can feel especially overwhelming. Many families are unaware of the formal support that is available — and how to access it.
This course is designed specifically for parents, giving you the knowledge and confidence to navigate examination access arrangements across all stages of education — from primary school SATs to GCSEs, college assessments, and university exams.
You’ll learn:
What exam access arrangements are and how they are applied
The types of support available (e.g., extra time, rest breaks, use of technology)
Who to approach at each stage of education and what evidence may be needed
How to advocate effectively for your child while building positive partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities
By the end of the course, you’ll feel equipped with practical strategies, clear information, and the reassurance that you can help your child overcome barriers and achieve their best in exams.
